Escort The Alaska Domes From Barge in Seattle to : Portland-Mt. Hood- Hinkle-Salt Lake-Denver-Pueblo-Walsenburg-Alamosa

The following contains some log entries from the November-December railcar movements of four Alaska Dome Cars which arrive in Seattle and were interchanged to various locations including Portland, Hood River, and Alamosa Colorado with stops at multiple points in between. There are additional photos in my photobucket file including video clips not posted in this story.

12/06/09  1 Dome in Portland. 1 Dome at Mt. Hood.  2 of the 4  Domes are shipped from Pueblo to Walsenburg, Colorado headed for Alamosa and SLRG RR. My escort services terminate once the cars ship out of Pueblo.....so we'll see you on the next railcar move!

UPDATE 12_04_09

We are in Denver but due to travel to Pueblo tonight. Should be in Pueblo by dawn on 12_05_09

 UPDATE 12_02_09

Two domes headed for Denver arrived late . Train crew Jay Jorn and M.E Schieving brought the HKRO into Salt Lake after the previous crews hours of service had expired. Some excellent work and coordination by MYO's Alex Engelke and Andy Dobel with special thanks to Yardmaster Dave (Taser Dave) Hadden. After an inspection by Engelke , yard crew of D.B. Simcox and C.D. Ostrander made quick work tagging our cars on the rear of the next train headed out to Denver.

So.....If you live in Utah or Colorado, here is a photo opportunity from dawn in Soldier's Summit to Helper to Grand Junction to Denver. If you  get a photo please send it to us....or post it to trainorders.com.  Thanks for the extra effort and hard work to the folks at Roper Yard in Salt Lake.  !!!

UPDATE 12_01_09

One of four cars has actually been delivered to Portland.  The Mt. Hood car has still not arrived although it has passed Mt. Hood 2-3 times and seems to be in a cycle between Portland and Hinkle!  Was picked up by the wrong train at the Dalles Saturday night....whoops!

Other two domes are in Utah.  Train died 100 miles north of Salt Lake and connection to Denver will be missed until Friday!

Happy railroading.....enjoy the slide show if you're not paying for it!
